Book your slot

Photographs

Booking a slot adds you to my commission waitlist. I work on a first come, first served basis, so your place on the list will be secured once you have booked.

I do not take a deposit at this stage. Once I have received your enquiry, we’ll have a discussion about your commission and make sure everything is suitable before any deposit is requested.

Send me your photographs and, where possible, I work from good-quality digital images. You’re welcome to send as many as you’d like, and we can work together to choose the photograph that will create the best portrait.

I understand that many portraits are memorial pieces, and in these cases, a good-quality photograph isn’t always available. I will always do my best to work with what you have, although there may be occasions when a photograph simply isn’t suitable for creating a detailed portrait.

With the introduction of AI image enhancement, there are now ways of improving the quality of some photographs while preserving the exact likeness of the subject. Where appropriate, I may be able to enhance an image to create a clearer, higher-quality reference for me to work from.

Any enhanced images will always be shared with you for approval before I proceed, so you can be confident that the likeness and appearance of your loved one are exactly as you expect.

Choosing the perfect photo

The quality of your photograph plays an important part in creating a detailed and lifelike portrait. Don’t worry if you’re not a professional photographer, a few simple tips can make all the difference.
 

  • Choose a clear, high-quality photo: Ideally, I need a clear head-and-shoulders photograph so I can capture as much detail and character as possible.

  • Natural light is best: Take your photograph near a window, using soft, natural daylight. Avoid using the flash, as this can create harsh shadows and reflections.

  • Make sure the key features are visible: Your pet’s eyes, nose and other important features should be clear and in focus. Try to avoid photographs where the face is heavily shadowed or blurred.

  • Take plenty of photos: I recommend taking several photographs from slightly different angles. A great little trick for pets is to hold their favourite treat or toy just behind the camera to encourage them to look towards you. You can gently move it from side to side or slightly up and down to capture different expressions and angles.
     

The more options you have, the easier it is for me to choose the perfect photograph for your portrait. If you’re unsure which photo would work best, feel free to send me several and we can choose together.

Multiple portraits in one drawing

Would you like to have multiple pets together in one portrait, but don’t have a photograph of them all together? Don’t worry! I can take individual photographs of each subject and carefully combine them into one portrait.

Before I begin drawing, I’ll create a provisional design for you to approve. The finalised provisional design will always be shared with you before any drawing begins, so you can see how your subjects will be arranged and make sure you’re happy with the composition.

Complete!

Once your portrait has been completed, it will be carefully mounted onto acid-free, thick mount board and wrapped in protective acetate. This helps to keep your artwork safe and protected until it is ready to be framed.

Post & Packaging

I take great care when packaging your artwork to make sure it reaches you safely. Each portrait is carefully wrapped in protective bubble wrap and securely packed inside a thick, sturdy cardboard box to help protect it during transit.

For UK deliveries, I use Royal Mail Special Delivery, with insurance included. Postage costs will vary depending on the size of your portrait.

For international deliveries, I use Royal Mail International Tracked, with insurance included. International postage costs will vary depending on the size and destination of your portrait.

All portraits are fully insured against loss or damage in transit. In the unlikely event that your artwork is lost or damaged, the insurance allows me to recreate your portrait for you free of charge.

Please note that for deliveries to the USA, customs charges and import duties may apply. Any customs fees, duties or taxes charged by the destination country are the responsibility of the recipient.

Portrait Commissions

Bauble Commissions

Ordering your custom bauble works much like ordering a portrait, and the same booking process and commission terms apply when securing your place.

What I need from you

When placing your order, please provide the following:

​

  • Number of baubles

  • Bauble size: 80mm or 100mm

  • Number of subjects: 80mm baubles can feature one subject; 100mm baubles can accommodate additional subjects

  • Photographs of your subject(s): please refer to my choosing the right photograph guide above

  • Background colour

  • Special effects: optional metallic, iridescent or glitter finishes

  • Satin ribbon colour: optional

  • Finish: matte or high gloss

Colour & Special Effects

Your bauble can be painted in almost any colour you choose, allowing you to create something completely personal to you.

Alongside standard colours, I offer a range of special-effect finishes, including metallic shades in a variety of colours, beautiful iridescent pearl-like effects and glitter finishes. Glitter is painted over a base colour to create a subtle, sparkling effect that catches the light beautifully.

Ribbon

Ribbons are optional, so you can choose whether you would like your bauble finished with one.

I use quality satin ribbon and offer a variety of colours to complement your design. The bows are approximately 25mm wide, with a 5mm ribbon loop attached for hanging your bauble on the Christmas tree or displaying it on a bauble stand.

Protective Finish

Every bauble is finished with a protective UV varnish to help protect the artwork from fading over time. ​

You can choose between:

​

  • Matte finish, for a softer, understated look

  • High-gloss finish, for a smooth, polished finish

​

Both finishes contain UV protection to help preserve your bauble and keep your artwork looking beautiful for years to come.

Timescale

Custom baubles typically take up to 5 days to complete once I begin working on them.

​

Please bear this in mind when placing your order, particularly if your bauble is required for a specific date or as a christmas gift. 

Christmas 2026

I have limited spaces available for christmas 2026. If you would like your bauble painted in time for christmas, I strongly recommend ordering well in advance to avoid disappointment.

The final date for Christmas 2026 orders is 20th November

Post & Packaging

Your bauble will be carefully packaged to help ensure it arrives with you safely.

It will first be wrapped in tissue paper and placed inside a presentation gift box, finished with ribbon. The gift box is then securely wrapped in bubble wrap and placed inside a sturdy cardboard postal box ready for dispatch.

For UK deliveries, I use Royal Mail Special Delivery, with insurance included. Postage costs vary depending on the size of your order.

For international deliveries, I use Royal Mail International Tracked, with insurance included. International postage costs vary depending on the size of your order and the destination.

All artwork is fully insured against loss or damage during transit. In the unlikely event that your bauble is lost or damaged in the post, the insurance allows me to recreate the artwork for you free of charge, subject to the terms of the postal service's insurance.

Every custom bottle is created to your chosen style, with two design levels available to suit the look you have in mind.

Custom Bottle Designs

Simple Design

A clean and elegant design featuring key details, lettering, names, dates or small decorative elements. Perfect if you prefer a more understated finish while still creating something completely personal.

Coverage

A more intricate, artwork-led design with additional detail and decoration. Ideal for creating a statement bottle with a more elaborate and personalised finish.

You can also choose how much of the bottle you would like painted:

Capture a loved one, a beloved pet, a favourite character or iconic figure in a unique piece of art designed to make your bottle one of a kind. 

Portraits are available with half bottle coverage as standard. For a full bottle with multiple portraits please get in touch to discuss your ideas.

Post & Packaging

Once your bottle has been completed, it will be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and securely packaged in suitable cardboard packaging to help protect it during transit. 

I take great care when packaging each bottle to ensure your finished artwork reaches you safely and securely. 

For UK deliveries, I use Royal Mail Special Delivery, with insurance included.

Shipping is only available to UK customers due to shipping restrictions and the risk of damage in transit. 

Order

Once you have placed your order, I will send you the details you need to arrange delivery of your chosen bottle.

When sending or dropping off your bottle, please include your name, address and a brief description of your design requirements. This will ensure I have all the information I need to begin creating your custom artwork. 

​

If you are posting your bottle, please make sure iot is securely packaged to prevent any damage in transit. 

Important Notice

I offer the painting service only and do not supply the bottle. This is due to UK licensing laws, which means I cannot purchase alcohol and then resell it to you. 

 

Instead, you can choose the bottle you would like painted from a wine merchant or licensed retailer in the Lanarkshire area. You purchase the bottle directly from them, so the alcohol transaction is between you and the retailer. alternatively, you can purchase your chosen bottle from an online retailers eg Amazon and arrange for it to be delivered to me. 

​

Where possible, i can arrange to collect the bottle directly from the retailer on your behalf, making the process much easier and saving you the cost and hassle of having the bottle shipped to me for painting. 

 

The bottle can be any brand or type, provided it is suitable for the artwork you have chosen.
